China's postal and courier sector maintained steady growth in the first 11 months of this year, supported by resilient consumption and continued improvements in logistics services, official data showed on Tuesday.

According to the State Post Bureau of China, the industry handled 196.75 billion parcels from January to November, up 12.9 percent year-on-year. Express delivery services accounted for 180.74 billion items, marking a 14.9 percent increase from the same period last year.

Industry revenue also showed positive growth, reaching 1.63 trillion yuan ($230 billion), representing a 6.7 percent year-on-year increase. Revenue from express delivery services stood at 1.36 trillion yuan, up 7.1 percent, the bureau said.

Breaking down the figures, intercity express deliveries continued to drive overall growth, with parcel volumes rising 16.3 percent year-on-year to 162.44 billion items. Same-city deliveries totaled 14.47 billion parcels, posting a 2.2 percent increase, while deliveries from and to Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan reached 3.83 billion parcels, up 11.3 percent from a year earlier.

The bureau highlighted that the steady expansion of the parcel delivery sector reflects the vitality of China's consumer market and the ongoing enhancement of logistics networks, which play a key role in supporting e-commerce and overall economic activity.
