Escaped snow leopard found safe in Xining Wildlife Park

The escaped snow leopard was found on Friday evening at Xining Wildlife Park in Xining, Qinghai province, the park's official WeChat account announced.
The snow leopard, named Naonao, was discovered missing from its enclosure on Friday morning. Following a prompt emergency response by relevant departments, a thorough search was conducted under expert guidance. Utilizing professional equipment such as drones and thermal imaging cameras, Naonao was located within the park at 8:08 pm on Friday.
Preliminary examinations by experts showed that the leopard is in good condition. A comprehensive medical checkup will be carried out subsequently.
The park said it will conduct a thorough review, strengthen facility construction, standardize park management, and continue its commitment to wildlife conservation.
After consecutive operational assessments, the park reopened to the public on Saturday.
Naonao is a 16-year-old snow leopard, comparable in age to an 80-year-old human. It has been moved from the snow leopard house to the leopard house for a science popularization exhibition since the first half of this year.
