Advancing toward a fairer world order

Malaysia hailed as like-minded good friend
President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday that Beijing is ready to work with Kuala Lumpur to build a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, bring more benefits to the two peoples and contribute to regional and global peace and development.
He made the remarks when meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Beijing.
Xi said that China and Malaysia are like-minded good friends that have stood by each other amid global changes and advanced hand in hand on the path toward modernization.
To set a model for high-quality development cooperation in the region, Xi said that China and Malaysia should promote cooperation in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, new energy and semiconductors, and advance key projects such as "Two Countries, Twin Parks" and the East Coast Rail Link.
Xi also called on the two countries to continue the Confucian-Islamic civilizational dialogue, work toward a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, and jointly defend the common interests of the Global South.
Anwar spoke highly of the Global Governance Initiative proposed by Xi, saying that it addresses the challenges facing global governance with forward-looking concepts as well as practical solutions.
Malaysia cherishes its special strategic partnership with China and stands ready to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, he said.
