Over 6,000 COVID-19 patients in Shanghai return home

Over 6,000 COVID-19 cases and asymptomatic infections in Shanghai have recovered and were discharged from hospitals and released from medical observation on Monday, the municipal government said on Tuesday.
The figure was a record daily high since the onset of the outbreak early last month.
"The accumulated number of recovered and discharged individuals during this outbreak surpassed 20,000 as of Monday. They have all been transported to their residences and must undergo seven-day self-health monitoring at home," said Wu Qianyu, a primary inspector with the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.
Shanghai registered 994 locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases and 22,348 asymptomatic infections on Monday.
