System to strengthen Party leadership
Establishing a system for issuance of news releases by the Communist Party of China Central Committee is an important institutional arrangement and institutional innovation aimed at adherence to and strengthening of the Party's all-around leadership and improving the Party's governing capability, a senior Party official said on Friday.
Xu Lin, vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and minister of the State Council Information Office, made the remark when hosting the first news conference of the CPC Central Committee in Beijing.
The system was established to adapt to the development of the situation and the requirements of the times under the historical condition that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era, Xu said.
The Friday briefing was held to introduce and interpret the significance of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, which was held from Monday to Thursday in Beijing.
