Leaders from China and the European Union have reaffirmed their goal to conclude talks on bilateral investment agreement before the end of this year during the China-Germany-EU leaders' meeting on Monday.
The meeting, held via video link, was co-chaired by President Xi Jinping, German Chancellor Angela Merkel — whose country currently holds the EU's rotating presidency — European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Negotiating teams from both sides have held six rounds of investment talks this year, said Zhang Ming, head of China's mission to the EU, in a recent interview.
