Tiger still going strong

Luo Linquan (left), Chinese consul general in San Francisco, visits former "Flying Tiger" pilot Roy Dillon, 92, who fought with China against Japanese aggressors in China during WWII on Aug 20 in Angels Camp, California. Luo presented bouquets, certificates of recognition and souvenirs to three Flying Tiger veterans and a Chinese-American WWII veteran, all in their 90s, and told them that China would never forget their contribution to the Chinese war effort and heroic deeds. Dillon, who flew over the Himalayan "Hump" from 1944 to 1946 as a military transport aircraft pilot, said, "My part was minimal. If I did anything, I consider it a privilege, not an honor, to be able to do what I did." LIA ZHU / CHINA DAILY
