"Some 10 to 15 dacoits (robbers) looted cash and belongings worth 150,000 rupees (US$3,000) from the Danapur-Howrah Express. The incident took place at Khusroopur railway station near Barh in state capital Patna," the official said.
Police have launched a manhunt to trace the culprits. The incident followed last month's other incidents of looting on trains in Bihar. On August 30, when a railway employee and a passenger were killed while a train was looted in Jamui district. On August 18, when five passengers were injured for resisting armed robbers who looted the Patna-Puna Express. |
