The 19th Commonwealth Games are being held in Delhi of?India from 3 to 14, Oct 2010, the largest multi-sport event conducted to date in Delhi and India, which hosted the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. This marks the first time the Commonwealth Games have been held in India and the second time the event has been held in Asia (after the 1998 Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

All members of the Commonwealth of Nations participated in the Games despite some initial concerns about the games' preparation works. A widely-praised opening ceremony helped improve the image of the games. After the first few days' competitions, all the focus has returned to sport.
