The six-day event drew 100,000 clients and businessmen from home and abroad, including more than 10,000 participants from 133 countries and regions, said Chen Weigen, director of the expo's executive committee.

The participants included senior executives from 132 Fortune Global 500 companies and other large multinational corporations, said Chen, also vice governor of Jilin Province.

Traders also signed 2.25 billion yuan ($368 million) worth of domestic trade deals, up 8.5 percent from a year ago, the official added.

Gao Yan, vice-minister of commerce, said the expo served as a platform for discussions on the direction of future cooperation and for promotion of strategic cooperation in Northeast Asia.

The annual event also witnessed the signing of 331 investment projects, with 75 having an investment of at least 1 billion yuan each, Chen said, without revealing the combined investment value.
