Storm hits Shandong

Nine prefectures in Shandong were pounded with torrential rain in the last two days with some parts struck by hail, according to the Civil Administration Office of Shandong province.

Preliminary statistics show about 950,000 people and 74,000 hectares of crops have been affected by the storm. Over 760 houses were leveled and more than 1,000 residents have been transferred to safer areas.
