Bao Lihui is the deputy secretary-general of the China News Photography club, the vice-chairman and secretary general of the News Photography Club of southwest China's Yunnan province, and a council member of the Photographers Association of Yunnan province. He has been invited to hold exhibits of his documentary photography six times at home and abroad and in many other joint exhibits.

This series is about the most serious drought to hit Xiangyun, in western Yunnan province, which has been dry since the end of September. It has been the driest period in more than 60 years. Many reservoir levels are still decreasing. The biggest reservoir, Qinghai Lake, had been drained for irrigation, but a vast number of crops are still in need of water.
