Letzebuerger (Germany)

I have attended Peking Opera int Tianjin in the old Grand Theatre several times with a Chinese friend who told me about the story and gave me an idea of what is going on. More interesting was the visit backstage to see how they do their make up, dress up and what kind of training is necessary to perform all the martial arts scenes.

What I learned so far is that this part of Chinese culture is not really valued anymore. Most people in the audience were elders and some foreigners. I hope that this tradition will not be lost for the sake of Chinese progress and economical development.
