Three workers have been found dead and 38 others are still missing at a hydropower station after a rain-triggered mudslide buried a lodging site Thursday in Sichuan, xinhuanet.com reported. The disaster occurred at the construction zone of Baihetan Hydropower Station in Ningnan county. Search and rescue efforts are under way.
據(jù)新華網(wǎng)報(bào)道，28日，四川省寧南縣白鶴灘鎮(zhèn)遭強(qiáng)降雨并引發(fā)泥石流。白鶴灘水電站施工營(yíng)地遭泥石流沖毀，導(dǎo)致住在營(yíng)地的3名施工人員身亡，另有38人失蹤。目前，搜救工作正在進(jìn)行。

The Shenzhou IX spacecraft is expected to return to Earth around 10 am Friday. The lunch menu items for astronauts will probably consist of mutton, several dishes of vegetables and pickles, according to Bai Yanqiang, deputy chief of China's astronaut training center and astronaut systems, Beijing Morning Post reported. The astronauts will have their lunch on the helicopter because it will be about 8 hours between their last meal in space and the landing. "The astronauts' opinions will also be taken into account. Maybe we'll bring porridge, steamed bread roll and some fruits," said Bai.

>Donations to charity fall
紅會(huì)接受捐贈(zèng)量減近6成
Donations to the Red Cross Society of China dropped 59.39% in 2011 to RMB2.87b, according to an annual report on public donations issued Thursday, chinanews.com reported. The China Charity and Donation Information Center said in the report that the total public donations of money and materials at home and abroad dropped to RMB84.5b last year, down 18.1% year-on-year.

The decline was partly due to the publicity surrounding scandals such as the "Guo Meimei incident" concerning charity organizations. Such scandals negatively affected the public's willingness to donate to charity, according to Liu Youping, deputy director of the charity center. Fewer major disasters occurring in 2011 was another reason for the decline in donations, he added.

Major sporting events always tend to precipitate a boom in the sex industry, with hundreds of thousands of visitors flooding an area. With one month to go before the Games begin, many London-based escort agencies are cashing in on this.
