A photo exhibition celebrating the vast range of ethnic diversity found across Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, opened at the city’s museum on Feb 20.

All 300 photographs featured at the exhibition have been submitted by grass roots and amateur photographers who’ve been able to capture what real life is like for Karamay’s many ethnic communities.

Reflected in the lens were Chinese New Year celebrations, national unity, community life, living, studying, and working in Karamay.

The exhibition pays a particular focus on the many people of Uygur ethnicity living in the city.

Open free to the public, the exhibition will run until the end of March, and opens from 9:40 am to 13:10 pm and 15:40 pm to 19:10 pm, daily.

The exhibition is organized by Karamay Culture and Sports Bureau, and co-hosted by Karamay Museum, Karamay Library and Karamay International Art Port.
