A replica of murals in Yongle Palace was exhibited in the city of Xiangyang, Hubei province, on Oct 27. Yongle Palace is a major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level located in Ruicheng, Shanxi province. It is the most ancient and intact Taoist temple and also the largest in regards to size in China. This palace is mostly acclaimed for the ample amount of exquisite murals painted on its interior walls.

The murals on display in Xiangyang were copied by Liu Yongzhi, a Hubei painter, and are the same size as the originals in Yongle Palace. It has taken 17 years for the painter to finish the copy, which was completed this past September. More than 2,000 figures were included in the copy version, and the whole work measured 500 kilograms. Liu plans to have a tour exhibition throughout the country to enable more people to enjoy the artistic charm of Yongle Palace's murals.
