Jilin provincial officials met with a group of Russian journalists to discuss cooperation in agriculture, trade and tourism, while noting that China's relationship with Russia is the most important bilateral relationship in the world, on May 11.

In commenting on the visit, a Jilin Information official said, "We hope to help the Russians learn more about Jilin, and promote cooperation with the Russian Far East with the help of these journalists when they return home."

Jilin has strengthened relations with its far east neighbors over the past couple of years, increasing the number of its cities participating in friendly-citiy programs and it is seeking further cooperation in trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges under China's the Belt and Road Initiative.

These journalists are from RIA Novosti, TASS News Agency, Russia's State TV and Radio Broadcasting Co.

The China-Russia Media Exchange Year, 2016-2017 will see more media exchanges and activities between the two countries.
