When China launched its new campus football program in 2009, a lot of schools responded and now, after three years of development it has reached every province in China and 5,084 schools, with 191,766 youngsters actively engaged and more than 2-million students who have gotten onto a football pitch because of the program.

This March 16, China published an updated version of the football plan that had 17 new items for campus football development, and reaffirming the importance it places on this.

The main purpose of teenage football is to support physical education by reviving the sport of football since it has gone into decline in popularity. The campus football program has also seen progress in its football grounds, training of personnel, funding, safety, and competitions and has changed people's view of the sport across the country.
