As summer is getting closer, the city of Zhangjiagang has prepared various themed events to get close to nature and enjoy a colorful summertime.

From May 27 to June 26, visitors will be able to see tens of thousands of fireflies and butterflies in Jiangnan Agricultural Garden at night. At 8pm every day, visitors may make a wish in front of a firefly and let it fly away. The plank road in the garden will be filled with starlight to create a bubbly atmosphere for visitors to take on the night adventure.

Yonglian Water Park will come back on June 25 with its distinctive "Elephant Water-Sprinkling Festival". Artificial elephants will be added to imitate the Water-Sprinkling Festival of the Dai nationality living in Yunnan province. Various water rides have been introduced for visitors to spend a fun time challenging themselves.

According to the local tourism department, the city will soon launch a lavender cultural tourism festival, Jiyang Lake beer festival and a lobster festival.
