Inner Mongolia sees increasing high-tech added value

Inner Mongolia saw significant results from the economic structure adjustment over the first half of the year. The region’s total retail sales of social consumer goods grew by 10.5 percent year-on-year for the period. The total sales of social consumer goods in the rural area witnessed growth 4.8 percentage points higher than the urban area. Total import and export value in Inner Mongolia was 12.2 percentage points higher in growth rate than the national average, while the growth of total export value in the region was 31.5 points higher than import value.

Industry internal structure adjustment has gained positive progress, and the high-tech industry’s added value stood at 12.9 percent, higher than the traditional industry from January to June, and 3.7 percentage points faster than the above-scale industry. Coal, ferrous and non-ferrous metal, and electric power all saw added value growth lower than the above-scale industry.

Disposable income of Inner Mongolia’s permanent residents in rural areas saw a growth rate 3.4 percentage points higher than those in urban areas, narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents.
