Industry tourism is a new economic sector that integrates tourism with industries such as culture, sports, agriculture, commerce and trade. It is a new industry with a promising future and large market potential. Huaqiao International Service Business Park has recently developed its industry tourism to boost general growth with its rich industrial resources and distinct plans.
In recent years, Huaqiao has formed a relatively complete industry chain by actively promoting dominant industries, including service outsourcing, a headquarters economy, commerce and trade and logistics, and emerging industries such as equity investment, e-commerce and cultural innovation. Introduction and operation of new projects, especially the Decathlon project and Tianfu Ecology Park, increases Huaqiao’s attractions, laying a solid foundation for industry tourism.
At an industry tourism mobilization meeting on Sept 21, Kunshan’s tourism bureau listed Huaqiao as a key park for city efforts, given its resource advantages. Next, the bureau will lay down details and help Huaqiao integrate industries, plan tourism attractions and improve market systems.
Kunshan is scheduled to build 30 industry tourism demonstration projects and introduce 10 special tourist routes by 2015. To date, Huaqiao has registered 20 tourism attractions in five categories, namely, characteristic parks, modern services, cultural innovation, exhibitions and demonstration agriculture. Other works are also under way.
