Colorful Guizhou Airlines, whose headquarters are in the city of Guiyang, Guizhou province recently completed its first flight as the province's first locally-owned carrier.

The airline is a joint-venture of the Guizhou Industrial Investment Group, which holds a 95-percent stake, and the Weining County Construction Investment Group, with the remainder. The province hopes to begin commercial operations by the end of the year on one of the domestic flights to the cities of Tianjin, Chengdu, Zhuhai, Xi'an, Fuzhou, Haikou and Bijie.
