Hefei hosts Derung ethnic group photo exhibition
Jointly organized by the department of communication of Anhui Normal University and the Anhui Photographers Association, a photo exhibition on the Derung ethnic group’s folk customs was held on November 23.
The exhibition displayed 40 photos reflecting the unique folk customs of the ethnic group. The historical photos are highly valuable works of art.
Shen Xingshi, photographer of the exhibition and a photography lecturer at the department of communication of Anhui Normal University, has visited Dulong valley in Yunnan province, the main home of the Derung people, six times since 2003.
The exhibition is also a humanities and social sciences project funded by the Ministry of Education.
