With this year's Tofu Culture Festival (which occurs every September 15) approaching, the tourism bureau of Huainan city, Anhui province, has recently started a series of tourism campaigns.
The campaign consists of three parts: bus tour, DIY tour and discount tour. The opening ceremony of the whole campaign will take place in the morning of September 14, and discount cards will be handed out at the ceremony. Shortly after that, citizens can get on the bus and go for a Chu culture tour (to Bagong Mountain scenic spot) or a riverside leisure tour.
September 15 to 17 will be a good time for a DIY tour for all scenic spots in Huainan city, which will be free for entry. Also, the Huainan tourism bureau has issued 20,000 discount cards, enabling citizens to enjoy 50 percent off in many spots and VIP service in some hotels until August 1, 2014.
As preparation for the campaign, the tourism bureau has put significant effort into publicity and environment improvement. A local scenic spot docent contest was also held to improve the overall service quality.
