Hello Kitty, the cartoonish white cat created by the Sanrio Corporation in 1974, may be running out of product lives, the New York Times reported. The popularity of the cute cat is waning and its sales have shrunk for a decade. Analysts say part of the problem is that Sanrio has oversold Hello Kitty, which appears on products as various as T-shirts, toilet paper and toasters. Now the company is struggling to find the next-generation version of adorable.

 

 

 

 

 

據(jù)《紐約時報》報道,已有36年歷史的卡通形象Hello Kitty瀕臨喪失品牌生命力的危險,其產(chǎn)品銷售額已連續(xù)10年下滑。分析人士稱,Hello Kitty影響力下降的部分原因在于東家Sanrio公司對其形象使用過度,產(chǎn)品太濫太多,甚至在T恤、衛(wèi)生紙和烤面包機上都能看到這只可愛的白貓。目前Sanrio公司正努力尋找Hello Kitty新的接班人。
