Celebrities lead China's tsunami donation efforts

為向此次遭受海嘯災(zāi)害的國家表示慰問，內(nèi)地演藝界代表馮小剛、張國立、陳凱歌、王中軍、王中磊、王剛、張鐵林、陳道明、陳寶國、張和平、宋柯、黃建新等12人聯(lián)合發(fā)出倡議，希望社會各界尤其是演藝界同仁發(fā)揚人道主義精神，捐款賑災(zāi)。

Celebrities lead China's tsunami donation efforts

Twelve renowned Chinese actors and directors, including Feng Xiaogang, Zhang Guoli, Chen Kaige and Wang Gang have called on movies stars and ordinary citizens alike to help the tsunami victims.

A temporary organization was founded yesterday (Monday), and a 24-hour hotline was launched for Chinese people to give support to the victims. The hotline is 6590 3388.

China's Red Cross Organization had received more than 20 million Yuan in donations by Monday afternoon.

The death toll from the tsunami has risen to more than 140,000 and the reconstruction efforts have attracted the attention of the international community.
