MGM negotiating for Jackie Chan flick "Nosebleed"

Updated: 2001-05-30 11:57

MGM is negotiating to take on a Jackie Chan movie that was recently shelved by New Line Cinema, Daily Variety reported on Tuesday.

New Line Cinema bought the action comedy "Nosebleed", about a window washer working at the World Trade Center in New York, in February 1999 for $600,000.

Daily Variety said Hyde Park Entertainment was in negotiations to co-finance and produce the $50 million to $60 million picture with MGM, along with Brian Gersh of Talent Entertainment Group, Chan's representative.

Hyde Park, which produced "Antitrust" and "What's the Worst That Could Happen?" due out in June, is headed by Ashok Amritraj and David Hoberman.

The story of "Nosebleed" centers on Chan pairing up with a waitress who works at the Windows of the World restaurant on top of the World Trade Center to foil what they fear is another terror attack on the building.
