The 2012 Global Chinese Talents (Dance) Competition was staged from Nov 27-Dec 1 at the Huaxia Art Center in Guangdong province's Shenzhen city. Thirty-three teams of overseas Chinese dancers from 14 countries, including the United States, Australia and Malaysia, participated in the contest, which is the third of the "Cultural China" series organized by the State Council's Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. The first competition focused on lion dancing in Guangdong's capital Guangzhou in 2009, and the second featured dragon boat racing in Fujian province's Xiamen city in 2011.
