2 dead, 9 injured in East China power plant blast

JINAN -- Two people died and nine were injured in an explosion at a thermal power plant in East China's Shandong province on Tuesday, according to the local government.

The explosion happened at 9:43 am in the ammonia tank of a desulfurization device at Jiazhou thermal power company in Zibo city.

The cause of the blast is under investigation.
