WENZHOU - Families of the 36 victims of a high-speed train crash in East Zhejiang province have agreed to accept government compensation, authorities said.
The family of each victim will receive 915,000 yuan ($143,000), which was almost doubled from the original offer of 500,000 yuan, according to a work team in charge of the aftermath of the accident.
Forty people were killed and 192 others were injured in late July when a bullet train rammed into another that had stalled on the railway in the city of Wenzhou.
