Huang Guangyu, former chairman of Gome Electrical Appliances Holdings, was on trial Thursday in Beijing on charges of insider trading, illegal business practices and bribery, the Legal Evening News reported.

The court hearing was on Thursday morning at the Beijing No 2 Intermediate People's Court. Only one reporter from Xinhua News Agency was allowed in court.

Huang’s wife Du Juan, who was a board director of Gome, and Xu Zhongmin, chairman of Zhongguancun, was also on trial.
