4-year-old hospitalized in wild boar attack

A wild boar which attacked a 4-year-old in a primary school was killed by villagers in Zhongping Township, Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County, Hainan Province, on Thursday.

The 50-kilogramme boar rushed into the primary school, biting Wang on the neck and back. The youngster was rushed to hospital for emergency medical treatment after the attack.

Hearing of the attack villagers rushed to the school, where they managed to subdue and kill the boar.

The villagers said the number of wild boars living in local forests has been increased since the provincial government listed them as protected animals a decade ago.
