Beijing Enlight Media Co Ltd said late Thursday its annual net profit in 2012 was between 281.28 million yuan ($45.26 million) and 316.44 million yuan, up between 60 percent and 80 percent year-on-year.
The company, the producer and a main investor in one of the highest-grossing Chinese films of last year, Lost in Thailand, also said that the revenue from films and television series increased significantly in 2012.
By the end of December, Lost in Thailand had reached 990 million yuan in box office revenue.
Analysts said the media and entertainment company could get a gross profit of about 400 million yuan from the film, which cost 30 million yuan to make.
From January to September, Enlight Media's net profit was only 136.29 million yuan, with the film contributing a net profit of more than 150 million yuan in the fourth quarter.
