Index continues rise, 02/08

China's main stock index climbed 0.79 percent higher on Thursday, maintaining the bullish trend from this Tuesday's rebound, ending over past week's downward stream.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 2737.732. Turnover in Shanghai A shares depressed slightly to 69.6 billion yuan from Wednesday's 77.3 billion yuan.

A total of 613 companies on Shanghai A-share market made gains, while 152 saw losses.
