Gold price opens higher in Hong Kong -- May 9

HONG KONG -- The gold price in Hong Kong went up HK$92 to open at HK$13,840 per tael on Monday, according to the Chinese Gold and Silver Exchange Society.
The price is equivalent to $1,494.99 a troy ounce, up $10.13 at the latest exchange rate of $1 against HK$7.771.
