The Lhalu Wetland National Nature Reserve in Lhasa, the world's highest-altitude urban inland wetland, is revealing its winter charm.
Known as the "lungs of Lhasa", the reserve combines ecological vitality with cultural grandeur. Snow-capped mountains and the majestic Potala Palace frame the scene, while migratory birds such as ruddy shelducks and bar-headed geese forage and play across the wetlands. This vivid interaction between wildlife, historic architecture, and natural landscapes creates a striking highland panorama.
The reserve highlights Lhasa's unique balance of ecological preservation and cultural heritage, offering a magnificent seasonal tableau on the Tibetan Plateau.
