High-speed rail safety during winter in focus

To cope with the challenges posed by frost heaving during low temperatures, Taiyuan High-speed Railway Engineering Section has strengthened the treatment of frost coverage to ensure safe and stable rail operations during winter. Its technical experts have conducted a comprehensive investigation on equipment conditions in areas with high incidence of frost damage. They have formulated plans according to the three stages of frost heaving development, stabilization and decline, achieving precise prevention and control.
IMF launches regional center in Shanghai
The International Monetary Fund on Monday officially launched the operations of its regional center in Shanghai. As one of the regional centers set up by the IMF worldwide, the IMF Shanghai Center is expected to enhance the IMF's engagement with the Asia-Pacific region, according to a statement from the IMF. The center will serve as a hub to promote research and knowledge sharing that can inform policies in areas of relevance for emerging markets and middle-income countries.
