'Beijing in Translation' special stand dazzles at Frankfurt Book Fair

The 77th Frankfurt Book Fair commenced on Oct 15. The special stand "Beijing in Translation", centered on foreign language editions of Beijing literature series, made a brilliant appearance. This marks the third overseas exhibition of the special stand in 2025, following its global debut at the London Book Fair and its first African showcase at the Tunis International Book Fair.
The stand features works that balance the classic and the contemporary, creating a "panoramic view of Beijing literature across eras." On display are 30 works by 20 Beijing authors, available in both Chinese and foreign language editions, encompassing various literary genres such as novels, essays, and poetry. The content combines intellectual depth with artistic charm, including classic works like Lao She’s Cat Country (Turkish edition), Liu Qingbang’s Wheat (Romanian edition), Zhang Zhilu’s Auspicious Time (English edition), and Zhou Daxin’s Falling Flowers in Luoyang? (Polish edition).
During the fair, numerous international publishers stopped by to engage in in-depth discussions with staff members about copyright cooperation and overseas promotion, reflecting the international publishing community’s interest in and recognition of Beijing literature.
The special stand "Beijing in Translation" is hosted by Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, with Beijing Lao She Literature Academy and China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation as co-organizers.
