At the 2025 Global Leaders' Meeting on Women held in Beijing from Oct 13 to 14, guests shared with China Daily reporter Yan An the latest progress in advancing women's rights around the world.
Thirty years after the Fourth World Conference on Women was held in Beijing, more girls are accessing higher education, and more women are breaking the "glass ceiling" to become senior officials — even presidents. Across the globe, countries are writing their own inspiring chapters in women's development.
Diane Kambanei from Papua New Guinea praised China for hosting the meeting, noting that when an influential nation like China actively promotes gender equality, it encourages more countries to join in and take action.
