SUFE unveils plan to enhance postgraduate education in finance and economics


Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) recently played host to a significant forum centered on nurturing postgraduate talents. The event, which was held on Sept 27, served as the launchpad for SUFE's ambitious Implementation Plan for Quality Enhancement of Postgraduate Education spanning from 2024 to 2026.
Dignitaries and luminaries from the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, as well as leaders from esteemed finance and economics universities across China, converged at the forum alongside SUFE representatives to deliberate on the future landscape of postgraduate education.
Wang Liang, a representative from the Ministry of Education, emphasized the critical role of finance and economics universities in nurturing top-tier, application-focused professionals. He urged institutions to prioritize quality enhancement endeavors, advocating for a focus on ethical education, disciplinary refinement, innovative training methodologies, and robust internal quality assurance systems.
Liu Jun, representing the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, underscored the necessity of aligning postgraduate training programs with the evolving needs of national economic development. He stressed the importance of fostering industry-education to cultivate forward-thinking and innovative individuals who are capable of navigating future challenges adeptly.
