"At present, satellites primarily transmit data using microwaves as carriers. At the Kashgar station, the fastest transmission speed could reach around 6GB per second. With the deployment of the laser communication chain being put into use, speeds are expected to increase to several hundred GB per second," Wang said.
"The satellite-ground laser communication system enables the rapid transmission of more and higher quality remote sensing satellite images. This advancement is crucial for scientific research," he added.
