More efforts should be made to embrace the value of data, promote the integration of digital technologies with the real economy and leverage such technologies to empower traditional industries, said Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of its Publicity Department.

Huang made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the China International Big Data Industry Expo in Guiyang, Guizhou province, on Thursday.

Huang called for efforts to bolster digitalization in public services, improve the governance system of the digital economy and expand global cooperation so as to facilitate its development.

He also underscored the significance of strengthening innovation capacities in key and core technologies, deepening digital transformation in key industries and enterprises and building digital industrial clusters with global competiveness.
