Some education companies in Beijing that offer classes outside of school have violated regulations, the Beijing education authority announced on Monday.

The widely known New Oriental School and Xue'ersi group, together with several others that give language and math courses to primary and middle school students, have charged tuition fees for more than three months, which is against the rules.

Some training schools in Dongcheng and Chaoyang districts have resumed the offline courses without approval from the commission, which violates the city's regulation for COVID-19 prevention.

Three other schools have held classes later than 8:30 pm — also on the violation list.

Other behaviors, including low price promotions, advertisements and providing courses beyond the teaching syllabus are all listed among the violations of regulations.

The schools have been told to correct their mistakes and report to the education authority when finished.
