Corn growing goes high-tech and unmanned

China's first unmanned corn farm began operating on Sunday in Chenjiadian village in Nongan county, Jilin province.
On the same day, the 3rd National Whole Process Unmanned Operation Test Conference on Agriculture was held on the demonstration base. Several unmanned agricultural machines demonstrated automatic operations on 20 hectares of farmland, attracting lots of visitors and nearby farmers.
Construction of the base, with its 790 hectares of corn, began in November. About 170 agricultural machines will ultimately be put into use there.
