Beijing: Steady Improvement in COVID-19 Situation

New COVID-19 cases in Beijing had been in single-digits and remained low for the past six days with more patients cured and discharged from hospital, said Xu Hejian, Deputy Head of the Communication Department of the CPC Beijing Committee and Director of the Information Office and Spokesperson of the Beijing Municipal Government, at a press conference on Beijing’s COVID-19 response on 4 July.
Xu said that the COVID-19 situation in Beijing is fully under control and continues to improve. While this is good news for Beijing, it is still not time to celebrate and there must be no lowering of guard, cautioned Xu. Strict control measures must remain in place, with management of key population to be enhanced in particular. Every person under epidemiological investigations must report relevant information fully and faithfully and fulfill their anti-epidemic duty as a responsible and law-abiding citizen. Anyone withholding key information and causing the spread of infections will be held legally accountable.
