Shanghai to issue daily reports on asymptomatic COVID-19 cases
Shanghai will begin to provide daily updates on asymptomatic COVID-19 cases starting on Wednesday, according to the municipal health authority.
Zheng Jin, a spokesperson of the Shanghai Health Commission, noted that the city has no such cases under medical observation at the moment.
"We had 11 asymptomatic infection cases in the past. These individuals were immediately sent to designated clinics. One case was excluded after a second test, and the other 10 people started to show symptoms later," she added.
Zheng said that the control measures for asymptomatic infection cases include having all inbound travelers undergo a nucleic acid test upon arrival in the city.
She added that the municipal health commission has stationed an additional 50 experienced nurses across the city's customs checkpoints to bolster screening measures.
