5.5-magnitude earthquake hits waters off Taiwan

BEIJING - A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck the waters off Hualien county of Taiwan at 10:29 pm Wednesday (Beijing Time), reported the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 23.35 degrees north latitude and 121.85 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 15 kilometers, the CENC said.
